An ADHD diagnosis is a serious matter and should never be given until a thorough evaluation makes it clear that it is the proper conclusion. Treatment is individualized, and we work closely with each client to create a plan that fits their goals, lifestyle, wants, and needs.

Note for Nevada clients: We are currently unable to prescribe Schedule II controlled substances in Nevada, including stimulant medications. However, other effective medication options are available when needed.

Can ADHD be diagnosed over telehealth?
Yes. For patients aged 16-60, our ADHD evaluations rely on clinical expertise, thorough patient interviews, comprehensive history-taking, and testing, all of which work well via secure telehealth. Intersect Mental Wellness requires patients to take an FDA-cleared test through QbCheck for an additional fee of $175 to aid in the diagnosis of ADHD. This test requires an internet connection and can be taken from the comfort of your home.

Can you prescribe stimulant medication through telehealth?
Arizona: In many cases, and only when needed, yes. Stimulants are Schedule II controlled substances, so they carry additional policy, federal, and state requirements that we review with you directly.
Nevada: We are currently unable to prescribe Schedule II controlled substances, including stimulants, in Nevada. There are other non-stimulant medications that can be prescribed when necessary.
I was diagnosed as a child. Do I need a new evaluation as an adult?
Yes. Adult ADHD may present differently from childhood ADHD, and your treatment history, current responsibilities, and any co-occurring conditions all shape the plan. We will also review prior records whenever available.
How long does an ADHD evaluation take?
The initial evaluation is a 75-minute video visit. That covers developmental and symptom history, current functioning, rating scales, and time to discuss what you are hoping for. Follow-up visits to adjust treatment are typically 30 to 60 minutes.
