Bipolar Disorders
Bipolar disorders involve changes in mood, energy, and activity levels that can move between periods of low mood and exhaustion and times of increased energy, racing thoughts, or feeling unusually “up” or activated. These shifts can affect sleep, focus, relationships, and daily stability, and they can feel confusing or overwhelming at times.
We take a careful, respectful look at your full experience over time—not just how things feel on a single day. Understanding patterns in mood, energy, sleep, and behavior helps us build a clearer, more complete picture together.
Care for bipolar disorder at Intersect Mental Wellness is thoughtful, collaborative, and individualized. We work alongside you to create a treatment plan that supports a steadier mood, greater balance, and a stronger sense of stability in daily life, adjusting care as your needs change.
With the right support, many people with bipolar disorder find meaningful stability, improved quality of life, and a greater sense of ease and confidence in managing their symptoms.

Bipolar Disorders questions we are asked most
Can bipolar disorder be managed through telehealth?
Yes, for many people. Ongoing management depends on regular conversation, mood tracking, and medication monitoring, all of which translate well to video. We discuss at the outset whether your situation calls for a higher level of care than a telehealth practice can safely provide.
What if I have been misdiagnosed with depression?
Unfortunately, this can happen. At Intersect Mental Wellness, you will receive a thorough evaluation, including a deep dive into your psychiatric history, and then regular follow-up sessions. We will be with you each step of the way and closely monitor your response to your treatment plan.
We will look specifically for previous experiences of elevated mood, decreased need for sleep, impulsivity, and more that may not have been evaluated in the past.
Do I need lab work?
Often, yes. Several mood-stabilizing medications require baseline and periodic monitoring. We order labs through a facility near you and review the results together at your visit.
How often will I be seen?
More frequently while we are establishing or adjusting a medication, then less often as things stabilize. The cadence is set by how you are doing, not by a fixed schedule.
